A QUILTER IS
SOMEONE WHO:

Saves ten boxes of scraps,

Has one corner of the house an eternal mess,

Buys half a yard of calico,

When on vacation, goes to the fabric store in every town,

Loves flea markets,

Is always looking for new ideas,

Spends sleepless nights thinking about color combinations,

Has a tottering pile of books and magazines in her room,

Visits every five-and-dime,

Is always picking up pins and bits of thread from the floor,

Has a callous on her left index finger,

Is always looking for more quilt patterns,

Begs her friends for remnants, Works for
a year on a quilt, then gives it away,

Watches TV with a needle in her hand,

Is forever ironing,

Is never bored,

Knows one hundred patterns by heart,

Forgets to water the lawn,

Can get it all together,

Finds treasures at a garage sale,

Always has time to help a friend.

The Christmas Club

snowman

Feel the joy of Christmas all year long while you get a head start on your gifts and decorations for the next holiday season. Cathy will share patterns for a Christmas Quilt designed just for this club. The techniques taught will be for machine piecing and hand or machine appliqué. You will explore different holiday traditions from around the world. Each month you will also receive an additional pattern for a different block or project such as Christmas quilts, stockings, tree skirts and more. And what would the holidays be if we didn’t enjoy a special treat with a recipe each month? So come and feel the joy and share some laughter as we make our way
to next Christmas.

“Happy Hour”
Let’s create our own “Happy Hour”, a quilter’s Happy Hour! This will be your time to sew, laugh, eat and just relax and have fun. Join me at the Quilt Basket on Friday, February 23 or at the Sewing Room on Friday, February 29. We will start at 5:00 PM and end at 11: PM. We will make it a potluck supper, so bring something to share and don’t forget your favorite snacks; if you can’t make it till later, that’s okay. We will eat around 6:30.
We’ll do an Easter project and have lots of fun. We will make different projects at each store. Sign-up today and pick up your supply list. We’ll provide some of the embellishments and fabrics. We will have machines available so you can do needle punching, bobbin work and even machine embroidery.
Join us for our first Happy Hour and we can discuss what and how to do future Happy Hours.
