Summer is coming but for now it is spring and the days are beautiful. I love sewing when it is raining outside, but I love to sew when the days are sunny and beautiful. I guess I love to sew all the time, only another quilter understands this feeling. I can’t believe it is already May. Come and see our new class samples and our new fabric kits. We are constantly making new kits for you. I have a fantastic staff who are constantly making new samples. They listen to your needs and we try to follow through on the ones we can. Our many clubs have started but you can join at any time. We have dedicated teachers and the students taking classes with us seem to agree. The teachers spend many hours preparing for their class. Linda Pearman’s Women of Influence has a strong following and you not only get a quilt class but a little Civil War history too. Cathy Skow’s Christmas Club members are having lots of fun. Cathy introduces new Christmas patterns each month which she has designed. Helen Frost is our designer for First Saturday and Applique Day, she also teaches the Garden Club.
Helen and Cathy will introduce their new book at the Quilt Basket in August. Their book will be available in July, but we will have a trunk show on Saturday, August 30, 2008.

Don’t forget to come to our Happy Hour in May. We will have them in May and August at both stores. We had way too much fun sewing, eating and talking. I did do a lot of eating and talking. Come in and see the project, it will be the same project at the Quilt Basket and Sewing Room in May..

We have started planning for our annual Christmas in July, “Mistletoe and Holly”. Our Christmas fabrics will be coming in soon, then the work begins as we plan, sew and kit up various projects. Remember, if we start early, our Holidays will be a lot more fun and relaxing. Join us on Saturday, July 26, from 11-2.

Don’t forget Lena’s Personal Service, bring your sewing machine to the Quilt Basket for service and I will take it to the Sewing Room and bring it back to the Quilt Basket.

In July, our First Saturday meeting will be on Thursday, July 3rd. We will be closed on Friday, July 4th.
