Dear Quilters, Can you believe it; I finally expanded into the space next to the Quilt Basket. We moved in Memorial Weekend. It was a long two days!! We’ll be moving things around for a while, so don’t be surprised if your favorite fabrics have been moved to another location. The staff at the Sewing Room loves the extra space! We can give you complete service with fabrics for your projects and sewing machines to make your projects. The Sewing Room staff is looking forward to seeing you at our various classes, which includes mastery, embroidery and software classes. We also have Bernina educators presenting webinars covering various topics from sewing projects to software at the Sewing Room. The webinars are open to everyone. The Sewing Room will be having different special events so watch your e-mail or come in for dates and details. “Stretch Your Imagination”, if you are interested or just curious in what software can do, save Saturday, July 24, 2010. Ramona Baird, a Bernina Resource Professional, will introduce you to the Bernina V6 software, remember, you do not have to have a Bernina to use this software. Let Ramona show you what V6 can do in simple, easy language we all can understand. July 24 has been set aside for our friends who do not have V6 software. We will have other classes and events if you already have V6 software. Save Tuesday, August 24, 2010 for a “Embroidery T-n-T”, Tips and Techniques with Bernina Educator Belinda Gibson.Talk to anyone who attended last years event, it was a day of fun making projects, bargain shopping and lots of The Quilt Basket will have an exciting, new and fun club starting in July. “Groovy Girls Sewing Club” will be a six month club with quick and fun projects designed by Terry Atkinson. You will find several clubs at the Quilt Basket; you may sign-up at anytime for many of our clubs. Our annual “Christmas in July” will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010, don’t forget this date. We’ll have gift projects for the holidays, wall hangings and other fabulous holiday ideas. Want to learn different embellishment techniques, then, you’ll want to sign-up for Mary Wetmore’s class called “Start Small”; a series of classes learning different embellishment technique at each class. New threads at The Quilt Basket, 30wt.cotton, I use it for my blanket stitch by machine, use it for hand or machine work. We also have 16wt perle cotton for hand or machine use. Stop in and see the other fun threads the Sewing Room carries.
